NANJING, China, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- China News Service (CNS) issued an article here on Monday to report a tiny Taiwan cuisine restaurant in Nanjing
What makes the restaurant special is it’s established and run by a couple whose marriage bonds the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. The restaurant is jointly owned and run by Qiu Taifeng, a Taiwan native boy, and his wife Shan Yun, a local girl from Nanjing.
Although the restaurant, named as "Miaokou Black Tea", is not big, the guests keep coming in and out to order during the rush hour for lunch everyday, the article said.
In the year of 2018, the couple decided to start with a small Taiwan-style tea house. They founded the brand of "Miaokou Black Tea", and opened their first shop in Xinjiekou, one of the most expensive area in downtown Nanjing.
Thanks to the unique Taiwan taste, their tea house quickly made a reputation in the bustling business district of Xinjiekou. "When I saw that the business was improving, I wanted to bring forth new ideas. I immediately thought of Hakka zongzi wrapped in dried radish, dried mushrooms, dried shrimps, egg yolks and other fillings."
As many old customers stay, a constant stream of new followers are coming in. In this April, Qiu and his wife finally opened another "Miaokou Black Tea" in Hexi New Town, Nanjing, as well as a new store in the east part of the city is ready to open soon.
“Nanjing is my blessed city, where I met my wife here and made many friends” Qiu said, adding that he felt very happy.
