Fusionex supports PIKOM to uplift Malaysia's ICT industry

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) – Fusionex, a data technology provider rendered its support at the PIKOM Leadership Summit 2018 recently hosted by the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) to uplift the national ICT industry.

As the main partner, Fusionex said the summit brought C-Level executives, policy makers and IT professionals for thought-provoking and in-depth discussions on the latest technologies that will shape the future of business.

The summit was launched by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, Gobind Singh Deo. Also presented were PIKOM Chair, Ganesh Kumar Bangah and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, a statement said.

“Our industry changes rapidly and is an exciting industry to be in. It’s one that is constantly evolving and innovating,” said Fusionex Founder and Group CEO, Datuk Seri Ivan Teh said in a keynote speech.

“To excel and thrive, we have to stay ahead of the curve. We hope the sessions at this event provide meaningful and constructive insights,” he added.

With the theme “Embark on the Digital Revolution”, it reflects a call for the industry players to make changes as businesses today may become obsolete in the near future due to the emergence of disruptive technology.

In the short term, the World Economic Forum estimates that five million jobs will be lost by 2020. Oxford University states that in 25 years, 47 per cent of current jobs will be rendered obsolete.

The summit inspired conversations and provoked the brainstorming of new ideas, solutions and approaches. Many topics were discussed such as artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, blockchain, cyber security and more.
