PANTHERYX PRESENTS POSITIVE RESULTS FROM TWO NEW DIARESQ STUDIES AT ITS 2019 INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM
New clinical data and case studies highlight the use of DiaResQ in a range of real world settings, from hospitals to disaster relief, in its first annual scientific meeting
BANGKOK, March 4 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- PanTheryx, a biotechnology company committed to realizing the potential of novel interventions to address a wide range of serious GI microbiome related health conditions, announced today the results of two new studies of its flagship product DiaResQ® at its first annual scientific symposium for clinicians. The symposium titled “DiaResQ: A Scientific Update” presented the findings along with case studies from around the globe. The meeting was held at the Shangri La Hotel in Bangkok over two days, March 1-2.
According to the World Health Organization, diarrhea is the second leading cause of death for children under five, with an estimated 1.7 billion cases of childhood diarrhea occurring each year. More than 80% of the cases occur in developing countries, including those in Africa and South Asia. Standard of care is limited, and primarily focused on symptom relief and preventing dehydration.
DiaResQ is a nutritional intervention that contains immune factors, micronutrients, and macronutrients that work with the body to address the underlying cause of diarrhea. In clinical trials, DiaResQ resolved a majority of cases of pediatric diarrhea after one day of use. No serious adverse events attributable to DiaResQ have been reported in its clinical trials that have collectively enrolled over 1,000 children and adults.
“We’re excited to bring together our international partners and key opinion leaders to share the latest scientific substantiation of the safety and efficacy of DiaResQ,” said Scott Hyman, senior vice president at PanTheryx. “It’s vital that we continue to make progress in addressing diarrhea, one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. We are working closely with clinicians and our partners to educate the medical community about the benefits of DiaResQ and ensure it’s available to everyone, especially children who are most at risk.”

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (“Hektar REIT”) announced its annual results for Financial Year 2018 (“FY18”) with revenue rising to RM135.1 million, up 7.6% higher compared to the same period in the preceding year, while Net Property Income (NPI) climbed to RM78.7 million, a 6.8% increase. Overall, the market valuation of the Hektar portfolio increased by RM26.9 million in 2018. The positive result is supported by strong portfolio performances, particularly from assets outside the Klang Valley, buoyed by the post-refurbishment asset enhancement initiatives in the Kedah malls and positive rental reversion growth in Melaka and Muar.
For the fourth quarter ended 31 December 2018, the REIT recorded higher revenue of RM33.9 million, an increase of 1.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2017 (“4Q17”). Net Property Income recorded was RM20.3 million, a small variation from the RM20.9 million in 4Q17. The Realised Income before taxation grew to RM12.0 million, showing a marginal increase of 1.8% from 4Q17.
Hektar REIT declared a final income distribution per unit (“DPU”) of 2.31 sen for the fourth quarter ended 31 December 2018. Based on the closing price of RM1.11 on 31 December 2018, the annualised DPU for the year represented a DPU yield of approximately of 8.1%.
“Hektar’s solid track record for occupancy, year-on-year increase in revenues and also net property income remains steadfast. It was a very busy year for us as we focused on improving our shopping centres under our portfolio which included asset enhancement initiatives, energy saving initiatives, extensive tenancy remixing and reconfiguration of space on top of taking over the operations of Classic Hotel, the hotel adjoining Wetex Parade in Muar. We strive to make sure that we achieve our goals in ensuring we deliver value to our unitholders. For the last 12 months period, the REIT has declared a total distribution of RM41.6 million or 9.01 sen. We are proud that the REIT has and continues to deliver returns to the unitholders and stakeholders despite the challenging market condition and growing competition,” said Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Hisham bin Othman.

TARGETED CANCER THERAPY PERSONALISED TO YOUR GENES AND MUTATIONS
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Public-listed healthcare company, Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Berhad (MGRC), and its subsidiary, pathology services company Clinipath (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Clinipath) today announced the availability of affordable, fast-turnaround, liquid biopsy tests developed by CIRCULOGENE Diagnostics LLC for doctors in Malaysia.
Liquid biopsies offer a non-invasive, quick, cheaper and safer, complement to surgical biopsies. They can provide real-time and actionable information about a tumour including which treatments, especially targeted therapies, are available for a particular patient. CIRCULOGENE’s CLIA/CAP-certified liquid biopsy tests examine cell-free nucleic acids to provide full genomic load analysis of somatic and germline mutations, DNA and RNA, and immunotherapy biomarkers all from a single standard tube of blood. This testing enables accurate and real-time data to help doctors and their patients choose the best available targeted therapies and available clinical trials, monitor efficacy and monitor for recurrence.
Conventional tissue biopsies (usually from the primary tumour) are used to determine molecular profiles at a single time point on a single site before targeted therapy commences. CIRCULOGENE’s liquid biopsy test offers what tissue biopsies cannot, the opportunity to take serial samples for longitudinal monitoring of tumour clonal evolution in circulation. “CIRCULOGENE’s liquid biopsy allows doctors to ensure personalised targeted treatment efficacy, monitor drug resistance, metastasis and recurrence, tailoring patients to the right treatment for the right target without delay,” said Dr Chen-Hsiung Yeh, Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of CIRCULOGENE. He added, “tumour genome sequencing on circulating cfDNA to guide treatment decisions could be the standard-of-care for new-generation cancer management in the era of precision medicine.”
MGRC and Clinipath continue to work together to make comprehensive pathology services, and the latest in genetic testing available to doctors with a view to improving the lives of patients in Malaysia and the region.

MGRC was a pioneer in genome sequencing, bioinformatics analysis and genetic screening services. Since 2004, MGRC had developed extensive pipelines in the sequencing and analysis of human, animal, plant and microbial genomes for clients worldwide. Today, MGRC is focused on merging the latest in genetic testing with pathology to enable doctors to provide personalised healthcare for their patients.
