MIMOS BERHAD AND CETC INTERNATIONAL (CETCI) SIGN GROUNDBREAKING MOU IN DIGITAL ECONOMY AND GREEN TECHNOLOGY

BUKIT JALIL, April 26 (Bernama) -- In a significant event held today, marking Malaysia and China’s 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s National Applied Research and Development Centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), CETC International (CETCI) under China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), promises to propel technological advancements and sustainable development in both nations, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster collaboration in digital economy and green technology.

The signing ceremony, which symbolises a half-century of cooperation and mutual growth between Malaysia and China, focuses on leveraging the strengths of both MIMOS and CETC to enhance innovation in the digital economy and green technology. This technology is critical for developing more efficient, and environmentally friendly products and systems, aligning with global demands for sustainable and advanced technological solutions.

YB Tuan Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, emphasised the importance of this partnership in his address at the event: "Today, we not only celebrate 50 years of strong diplomatic ties with China but also embark on a promising journey towards significant technological advancements. This MOU is not just a testament to our shared history but a forward-looking step into a future where our combined efforts will undoubtedly yield substantial benefits for both nations' technological and industrial sectors."

CETC echoed the statement and emphasised that the collaboration is timely, as global demand for sophisticated digital technologies and eco-friendly solutions is surging. The MOU highlights a shared commitment to nurturing innovation, spurring economic growth, and promoting sustainable development. By combining MIMOS' research and development capabilities with CETC's extensive experience and technological expertise, both parties aim to enhance their R&D initiatives and foster talent, thereby contributing to Malaysia’s vision of becoming a globally competitive, technology-driven nation.

The MOU also underscores the importance of international partnerships in today’s interconnected world, strengthening the technological and economic bonds between Malaysia and China.
