KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- AM Best will deliver a presentation at Insuretech Connect Asia on the scoring results of its rated insurance entities in the Asia Pacific region, a year after the US-headquartered rating agency implemented a new criteria procedure on innovation.
The two-day Insuretech Connect Asia conference beginning June 16, of which AM Best is a community partner, is a leading insurance-industry event covering innovation in the region, and provides insight to insurers on how to reinvent themselves amid disruptive forces caused by emerging technologies and insurtech startups.
In March last year, AM Best formally integrated its criteria procedure, ‘Scoring and Assessing Innovation’, into its rating process, which outlines how AM Best explicitly considers an insurance company’s innovation efforts.
The conference briefing, ‘Scoring and assessing innovation input & output in insurance company ratings’, will focus on how insurers in the Asia Pacific region performed on their innovation efforts since implementation of the criteria, and how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted those efforts.
Managing director, analytics, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, Greg Carter and Myles Gould, director, analytics, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, will deliver the presentation, according to a statement.
“Although the majority of Asia-Pacific insurers recognise the need for constant innovation, the level of development and pace of adoption varies considerably by market,” said Carter who has more than three decades experience in the insurance industry and oversees AM Best’s analytical teams in London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Gould has been with AM Best for nearly 10 years and is responsible for AM Best’s rating coverage in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
