SERDANG, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- The Putra Business School (PBS) Convocation Ceremony was successfully held on 4 December 2023 at the Pusat Kebudayaan Dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The degrees were conferred by His Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj PBS Chancellor, to 162 graduates from the MBA, Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration (PGCert) and PhD Programmes.
Following the ceremony, YM Dato’ Syed Haizam Hishamuddin Putra Jamalalullail, Chairman of Yayasan Putra Business School, and Prof. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, PBS President & Chief Executive Officer, personally offered their congratulations to all of the award recipients.
Dr. Chan Tak Jie and Muhammad Amin Jailani were the recipients of the prestigious President Award for Research and Coursework Programmes respectively.
“Collaborative work with my peers is a significant tool while studying at PBS. These collaborations foster a sense of community, making the often-lonely journey of postgraduate study feel more connected and supportive. The PBS work-life balance-based structure also allows me to be more productive in my studies while also taking care of my well-being. Remarked Muhammad Amin, when asked about his PBS study experience.
Six PhD graduates received the Graduate-on-Time Award, while 30 graduates were presented with the Gold and Silver Awards as recognition of their academic excellence through their learning journey at PBS.
According to Gold Award recipient Murali Krishna Dhepalli Vijaya Paul from India, “The MBA program at PBS offers a specialized curriculum that aligns with my career goals, providing me with the expertise needed to excel in areas such as strategic management, human resource management, finance, and marketing.”
The Academic Partners’ Awards were presented in collaboration with PBS’ esteemed academic partners. Recipients for this award were Lailatulqadril Hazam bin Mohamad Nasir for Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chun Siok Ling for Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM), Tan Ying Hui for Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and Taasha A/P Ganesan for Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM).
Mr Amran Abd Hamid, who is also the Group CEO and Managing Director of the award-winning local restaurant franchise PenyetPenyet.com, was the ceremony’s Graduate Representative.
“As graduates of PBS, this institution instilled in us the principles of Human Governance, values, and ethics,” Said Mr. Amran in his speech.
“PBS reminds us that our dreams, no matter how ambitious, are within our reach if we remain steadfast in our efforts and true to guiding principles and values.”
PBS extends its heartfelt congratulations to all graduates for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the university community.
