| LONDON, Sept 21 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Global market research company Euromonitor International announced a new webinar, ‘New Consumerism’s Impact on the Beauty and Fashion Industries’, highlighting how sharing has fundamentally changed the way shoppers view ownership of goods and how rising demand for experiences has changed the way fashion and beauty industries engage with their customers.
New consumerism is a fundamental shift in the economy, demographics, household formation and environmental attitudes enabling technological leaps and driving change in consumption habits. “This New Consumerism avoids the conspicuous consumption of the past and instead sees consumers re-evaluating their priorities and re-assessing their values. People are asking themselves what really matters to them, and, conversely, what is ultimately not important,” says Michelle Grant, head of retailing research at Euromonitor International.
Experientialism is also gradually replacing materialism as the new status quo. The experience trend is impacting many sectors, and fashion and beauty companies are trying to build an emotional connection with shoppers by offering experiences with their brands. “Instead of purchasing new products to own, consumers are increasingly buying used products, and renting instead of buying. There is a limit on what consumers can ‘reuse’ in the beauty world but that doesn’t mean that brands aren’t working hard to provide a recyclable quality to their products,” comments beauty and personal care analyst at Euromonitor International Hannah Symons. |

TOKYO, Sept 21 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (TDSC) today announced the launch of “TLP2735,” a high speed IC photocoupler for MOSFET gate signal insulation and the company’s first to incorporate an under voltage lockout (UVLO) function.
UVLO cuts the photocoupler’s susceptibility to noise like that generated in power supply cables, and can prevent malfunctioning when products are switched on. With an isolation voltage of 5kVrms (min) between the input and output, as well as conformity with the IEC60747-5-5[1] photocoupler safety standard, TLP2735 is also suitable for applications requiring high insulation performance.

WORLDREMIT LAUNCHES DIGITAL MONEY TRANSFERS IN MALAYSIA
KUALA
LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- London-based digital money
transfer company, WorldRemit, has launched in Malaysia.
The company’s presence will enable
the transfer of money to over 140 countries as easily as sending an
instant message, using the WorldRemit application or website.
In a statement today, WorldRemit said
it was accepted as one of only four initial entrants into Bank
Negara Malaysia’s Financial Technology Regulatory Sandbox in June,
alongside the appointment of Ridzuan Aziz, with experience in compliance
advisory and fintech, as Country Director.
WorldRemit said the digital,
mobile-first model significantly improves security and compliance standards.
“It also eliminates the need for the
sender to visit a bricks and mortar agent, which can be inconvenient and time
consuming,” it added.
It said the move sees WorldRemit
expanding its presence in Asia significantly to include Malaysia, Singapore,
Hong Kong and Japan as send countries.
It has seen remarkable growth across
the Asia Pacific (APAC), which now accounts for almost 25 per cent of
all transactions sent by WorldRemit globally.
Remittances sent from Malaysia play an
important role in other regional economies and just under US$6 billion was
sent in 2015, according to the World Bank and key recipients included the
Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
WorldRemit APAC Director, Michael
Liu said Malaysia had a strong economy and flourishing fintech
community.
“Any international financial technology
business wanting to achieve a real business presence in APAC needs to be
in Malaysia.
“The growing recognition of the
importance of innovation, through developments like the country’s new
regulatory Sandbox and the Digital Free Trade Zone, signifies greater
government policy support for businesses like ours,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ridzuan said the
company looked forward to offering its services to Malaysians,
further supporting the move from archaic offline remittances to safer, faster
and lower cost online transfer methods.
“Last month WorldRemit announced a
global integration with Google’s Android Pay, followed by a partnership with Huawei’s
mobile money platform across Africa.
“The company currently handles 74 per
cent of all international remittances sent from money transfer operators to
mobile money accounts and is connected to over a fifth of all mobile money
accounts globally,” he added.
He said WorldRemit users
sent 700,000 transfers monthly to 140 receiving destinations

CALLIDUSCLOUD UNVEILS GAME-CHANGING AUGMENTED INTELLIGENCE PLATFORM FOR SALES PERFORMANCE, EXECUTION AND LEARNING CUSTOMERS
Thunderbridge AI³ Combines the Power of Artificial Intelligence, Application Integration, and Human Insight to Provide Contextual Augmented Intelligence Recommendations throughout the Lead to Money suite
The Thunderbridge Augmented Intelligence platform is a layer of software that applies machine learning techniques to the sales and learning processes to come up with recommended actions for increasing revenue, profit, and sales effectiveness.
The role of human insight and behavior is key to Thunderbridge AI³. Recommendations are precisely tailored to individual sales representatives, sales leaders, and sales operations managers and are specific to different stages in a deal. Incentive compensation, training, and learning, are all analyzed with the Thunderbridge AI engine, and are factored into suggested actions that provide real and quick ROI. The solution takes into account all elements of the sales process from the “top of the funnel,” to sales enablement and learning, to compensation payouts.
Key to Thunderbridge AI³ is simple implementation without lengthy set up times. Thunderbridge AI³ is integrated seamlessly with CallidusCloud Lead to Money suite already. There is no need for a separate data platform, and no need for data scientists.
“To this day, artificial intelligence applications have been delivered as toolkits with high-profile, expensive implementations that the customer has to manage on its own,” said CallidusCloud CEO Leslie Stretch. “With Thunderbridge AI³, that’s not the case. We believe AI must augment existing applications and reveal their true capability to automate and optimize business.”
CallidusCloud has built the new platform on top of the existing Thunderbridge Analytics product and the new functionality has been years in the making.
The solution was developed with CallidusCloud’s deep knowledge of how the B2B sales process works and how integral human behavior and insight is to this process.
