KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (Bernama) –
Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) and the First Affiliated Hospital of
Zhejiang University recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to
collaborate in clinical trials in Malaysia and China.
CRM in
a statement said through the cooperation, both parties would provide
support and valuable resources to encourage new clinical research
collaborations, besides opening teaching and training opportunities.
“Malaysia
stands to benefit through business networking opportunities from
China’s pharmaceutical and biotech companies which may see more trials
coming into the country,” it said.
The
MoU was signed between CRM chief executive officer, Dr Akhmal Yusof and First
Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University president, Prof Wang Weilin.
Zhejiang
University is one of the oldest universities in China with a long history in
medical research and development.
Established by
the Health Ministry in 2012, CRM’s role is to advance global health solutions
for a brighter, more hopeful future for the people by providing speedy and
reliable end-to-end clinical research support for quality
studies.
