PENANG HERITAGE PHOTOGRAPHY FIESTA EXHIBITION HELD AT NEW WORLD PARK, PENANG FROM 8 - 17 JULY 2022

GEORGE TOWN, July 8 (Bernama) -- In conjunction with George Town World Heritage Day, PPB Properties is organizing a photography exhibition at New World Park, Penang from 8 – 17 July 2022 to showcase the beauty of Penang.

This exhibition is the final leg of the Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta organized by PPB Properties in collaboration with SONY Malaysia and Society of Photographers Penang (SPP). Almost 100 photographs from professional photographers as well as the finalist photographs from the Fiesta’s photography contest are displayed at the exhibition.

The first leg of the Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta was a photography contest, held from 20 June to 4 July 2022. The photography contest comprised of three categories namely architectural & streetscapes, portrait photography and a special category designated for youths aged 15 – 25 years old. 

The contest was followed by a series of photography workshops hosted by SONY, with the aim to empower youths with photography skills. The Fiesta also provides a platform for amateur photographers to hone their skills and allow the public to appreciate Penang’s local colourful culture and heritage through the photographers’ lenses.

A total of 18 winners from 50 shortlisted photographs across all three categories in the contest stand a chance to win attractive prizes, worth over RM16,000. The winners will be announced on The Whiteaways Arcade and New World Park’s social media pages.

The photography exhibition will be opened to the public at New World Park’s Centre Courtyard with no admission fee until 17 July 2022. Visit us today to enjoy a photography collection showcasing the beauty of Penang!
