KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- Mary Kay Inc, a global advocate for corporate sustainability and stewardship, recently participated in Making Waves: Women Leaders in Ocean Conservation, a virtual panel hosted by the global environmental non-profit The Nature Conservancy.
According to a statement, Mary Kay said any threat to the health of oceans is an existential global threat and the company is committed to working with other leaders in this space to make a difference.
Key panellists from The Nature Conservancy were Global Reefs lead Dr Lizzie Mcleod, Eastern Caribbean programme director Dr Sherry Constantine, and chief executive officer Jennifer Morris.
“Elevating and supporting ocean and climate champions globally is an essential way we tackle the dual biodiversity and climate crisis.
“Additionally, increasing women’s ability to participate in and lead ocean conservation and climate action ensures projects better address the needs of communities, are more sustainable and more equitable, and create a win-win for people and nature,” said Mcleod.
Panellists discussed how women leaders from across the globe are spearheading efforts to restore the health of oceans with key themes such as empowerment, education, and motivation of the next generation, as well as the importance of local leadership.
