PARTNERS LIFE BECOMES FIRST NEW ZEALAND LIFE AND HEALTH INSURER TO GO LIVE ON THE FINEOS PLATFORM
CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand, April 27 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- FINEOS Corporation (ASX:FCL), the market-leading provider of group and individual core systems for life, accident and health insurance, today announced that Partners Life has become the first life and health insurance company in New Zealand to go live on the FINEOS Platform. The FINEOS Platform is a purpose-built end-to-end SaaS core platform for life, accident and health insurers.
The Partners Life and FINEOS partnership replaced the insurer’s existing system with FINEOS Claims, giving Partners Life unparalleled operational and customer service benefits. The FINEOS Platform includes a market-tested, pre-configured business and regulatory content pack for the region known as FINEOS LISA (Life Insurance Solutions Australasia). Internally, the company will experience improved risk controls and claims management workflow covering life, TPD, trauma, income protection and medical products.
This launch is the first stage of the company's claims transformation journey, with medical claims debuting on the FINEOS Platform later this year. It lays the foundation for the final stage where Partners Life clients will have access to digital self-service and elevated customer service.
“FINEOS has proven to be the strong partner within the New Zealand and Australian life and health insurance industry we needed,” said Daniel Walker, Chief of Operations at Partners Life. “Our clients, who are already managing health difficulties, will have an easier time accessing their benefits because of our digital transformation, and our employees are able to dedicate more time to helping them because of the benefits of automation brought by FINEOS.”
“Partners Life saw the direction the voluntary benefits industry is going and put itself ahead by investing in the power of a cloud-based core solution,” said Adam Edwards, FINEOS APAC product manager.
“It is exciting for FINEOS to deepen our engagement in the region, which dates back almost 20 years and involves six of the largest life insurers in Australia. Partners Life brings FINEOS to the private life and health insurance sector in New Zealand,” said FINEOS CEO Michael Kelly. “With Partners Life experiencing the benefits of our partnership and the FINEOS Platform, I’m confident additional growth opportunities will follow.”
The FINEOS Platform provides a comprehensive SaaS end-to-end core solution for the Global Life, Accident and Health market. Key to the solution is the rich functionality that underlies FINEOS AdminSuite, FINEOS Engage and FINEOS Insight, a common set of capabilities including workflow, rules engine, customer management, no-code/low-code configuration tools, a standardized API connection and the cloud environment powered by AWS.

G20 EXPECTS INDONESIA'S G20 PRESIDENCY SEEKS SOLUTION TO THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE CONFLICT
KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 (Bernama) -- The second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting expects Indonesia's G20 Presidency to bring about a solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, states Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
"(G20) members hope that the current geopolitical situation, particularly related to the war in Ukraine, will be handled," Indrawati noted at a press conference of the second G20 FMCBG meeting on Thursday.
The expectation is based on the fact that the global situation has worsened and changed rapidly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the Russia-Ukraine war, she remarked.
Moreover, the Russia-Ukraine war has a very dynamic implication, including on the energy, food, and fertiliser price hike, she affirmed.
According to a statement, Indrawati said Indonesia, which currently holds the G20 presidency, will continue to conduct intensive communication and consultations with all G20 members to address the very dynamic situation.
Indonesia continues to hold discussions with all G20 member states to find ways to get out of the various global economic risks that result not only from the war in Ukraine but also from the pandemic, she states.
The minister emphasised the current need for an exit strategy since several countries were under the threat of high inflation while the global energy and food price hike will increasingly create a challenging situation for policy makers.
According to Indrawati, G20 members are concerned about inflationary pressures that tend to prompt several central banks to raise the policy interest rates that will eventually lead to faster-than-expected global liquidity tightening.

On April 17, a day after China's Shenzhou 13 crew returned to earth, dairy giant Yili Group announced at a press conference to collaborate with the China Center for Aerospace Science and Technology International Communications (CCASTIC), which is an affiliation of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The collaboration will include establishing a Space Lab for Future Dairy, which will aim to leverage space technology to bring new transformative innovations to the health sector. Yu Dengyun, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee of CASC and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, noted that the two sides will focus on boosting the dairy industry through space technology. He said that research on space biology and new space materials will introduce new solutions to upgrade the dairy industry. Yili will strive to develop more healthy dairy products that fulfill consumers' nutritional demands and meet strict quality standards. We will drive and contribute to the upgrading of the dairy industry through space technology, said Zhang Jianqiu, CEO of Yili Group. The two sides will work closely with related space institutes on scientific research, technology transfers and product development. Through joint efforts in packaging using new space materials, bacterial strains in space, TanSat-based pasture monitoring, and health and nutritional care, they are committed to upgrading dairy products to a higher level. The Lab marks a step forward towards further empowering industries with space technology and improving consumers' health and nutritional status. Dr. Situ Wenyou, a scientific research expert of the Innovation Center of Yili, expressed his hope that this inter-disciplinary cooperation will bring about lighter, safer and more environmentally friendly food packaging materials, as well as nutrition and health products tailored for special segments of the population, with the aim of enabling consumers to enjoy advanced technologies and products in their daily lives. Yili aspires to participate in future space experiments by applying cutting-edge research to dairy products under special conditions such as long-term microgravity, strong radiation and extreme temperatures. These efforts will contribute to improving consumers' health and nutrition by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. Yili has always pursued the philosophy of "no innovation, no future". To date, the company has built 15 innovation centers across the globe and actively engages in innovation-focused collaborations across its supply chain. Value-seekers will be pleased to learn that the store offers some of the best prices in the market on popular items such as Ausicows butter at just RM7.90 per 250g pack, the lowest in the market.
Regular customers were invited to the opening to enjoy a stroll around the spacious store, to meet with BWY’s team of chefs, who demonstrated some of the popular premixes on sale, as well as to enjoy special opening day gifts. Visiting the store for the first time was a resident shopper, who said, “Bake With Yen has been and is our go-to baking supplies shop for the past 15 years, ever since our second daughter introduced us to it. We get almost all our baking needs and at reasonable prices too. Picturesque Zhejiang attracted many local visitors at MATTA Fair 2022 |
The 2022 MATTA Fair, the largest-scale international tourism fair held offline ever in Malaysia after the Covid-19 pandemic, attracted tens of thousands of visitors. The “Picturesque Zhejiang” booth on site had played the promotional videos that introduced Zhejiang’s culture and tourism resources, vividly illustrating the unique sightseeing resources and colorful cultural heritages of Zhejiang.
A large number of visitors immersed themselves in the video at the booth, took active participation in interaction and survey, and got rewarded by the characteristic Zhejiang-related souvenirs. The Picturesque Zhejiang VR video, in particular, had strongly impressed every audience and brought them a virtual tour to Zhejiang and to experience its extraordinary charm.
As many Malaysian visitors on site expressed, it is a pity they couldn’t visit Zhejiang for the time being, but they would definitely pay a visit in person to Zhejiang, enjoy its beauty and charm, as well as experience the local culture and communicate with local people.
The 2022 MATTA Fair marked the public debut of Zhejiang on international fairs after the pandemic. Not only does Zhejiang aspire to deliver the charm of Zhejiang to more SEA public and enhance the brand image by taking a good advantage of tourism industry recovery, but also Zhejiang would like to seek for global partners to help with the recovery of its inbound tourism market through communication with international platforms.

Kioxia releases version 3.20 of KumoScale™ storage software
KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 (Bernama) -- Kioxia Corporation, a world leader in memory solutions, has released version 3.20 of its KumoScale™ storage software built around the NVM Express™ over Fabrics (NVMe-oF™) protocol.
Designed for cloud-centric deployment at data centre scale, the KumoScale storage platform delivers high performance NVM Express (NVMe™) flash storage as a disaggregated networked service, according to a statement.
Major features in KumoScale software version 3.20 include additional bare metal deployment options, seamless support for OpenID Connect 1.0, and support for NVIDIA Magnum IO GPUDirect Storage (GDS).
In addition to the KumoScale software’s streamlined appliance install, KumoScale software version 3.20 adds an option to deploy on generally available commercial operating systems.
For large data centres, storage infrastructure, of necessity, is tightly integrated with a variety of sub systems such as those for provisioning, monitoring, telemetry and networking.
Version 3.20 adds support for NVIDIA GDS. GDS enables a direct data path for direct memory access (DMA) transfers between GPU memory and storage, which avoids a bounce buffer through the CPU. This direct path increases system bandwidth and decreases the latency and utilisation load on the CPU.
Version 3.20 adds support for third-party OpenID Connect 1.0. OpenID Connect is an identity layer on top of the OAuth 2.0 protocol that allows clients to verify the identity of users and session based on the authentication performed by an Authorization Server for service account permissions.
KumoScale software version 3.20 also includes CSI raw block support, and an embedded Grafana™ storage analytics dashboard.
