"ECLECTIC ZHEJIANG ∙ SPLENDID JIANGNAN" ZHEJIANG CULTURAL AND TOURISM PROMOTION SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN KUALA LUMPUR

KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama)
-- April 9 witnessed the successful holding of the “Eclectic Zhejiang · Splendid Jiangnan” Zhejiang Cultural and Tourism Promotion hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in Kuala Lumpur, attended by numerous distinguished guests from the tourism, cultural and media circles of Malaysia.

The exchanges between Zhejiang Province and Malaysia can be dated back to more than 2,000 years ago. In recent years, the bilateral cultural and tourism communication has been increasingly frequent, contributing to higher-level cooperation in a wider range of fields.

On the event, staff representative from the Southeast Asia Promotion Center of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism elaborated on the cultural heritages in Zhejiang inherited from thousands of years ago, as well as its abundant tourism resources, before sincerely expressing the aspiration for further strengthened cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between Zhejiang and Malaysia.

Also highlighted were the two boutique routes specially designed for Malaysian tourists, namely, the routes of “Charming Zhejiang” and “Leisure Zhejiang”, both of which guide the tourists to pay a visit to almost all representative cultural and tourism scenic spots, including Liangzhu, the Grand Canal, the old towns, and West Lake. The guests present at the event spoke highly of these two routes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed adversely affected the cultural and tourism exchanges, yet Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism has been actively exploring more possible ways for Zhejiang and Malaysia to cooperate in the fields of culture and tourism, and to learn from each other. It is hoped that after the pandemic, more Malaysians can have the chance to visit Zhejiang and enjoy the beautiful scenery for closer friendship.
