KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- Indian online education company upGrad is embarking on a major domestic expansion in four cities.
upGrad said in a statement that it had leased 335,000 square feet of space in the cities of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Noida to be utilised for office spaces, offline campuses, housing for learners, studios and training rooms for a growing roster of teachers and faculties.
“We have offers out to hire over 1,400 team members between November 2022 and March 2023 across India and global offices,” it added.
Its co-founder and managing director Mayank Kumar said domestic expansion is a priority for the company.
“We are expanding to house the larger teams that we are bringing on board. Also, while our focus is on strong online delivery models, we encourage our current and prospective learners to meet us in person while they decide on the right programme for themselves.
“Thus, having an offline presence allows us to be closer to our learners in their lifelong learning journey,” he said.
upGrad operates out of 30 offices in India across 10 cities, and outside of these, its global offices are located across San Francisco, New York, Washington, London, Singapore, Dubai, Jakarta, Vietnam and Sydney, among others.
