KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Bernama) – Putra
Business School (PBS) at Universiti Putra Malaysia
has appointed SME Corporation Malaysia chief executive officer (CEO),
Datuk Dr Hafsah Hashim as its second Professor of Practice.
Her
appointment as Professor of Practice is the second made by PBS after Perak
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
PBS president and
CEO, Prof Dr Zulkornain Yusof said in a statement: “Datuk Dr
Hafsah’s appointment is a recognition of her award-winning leadership with
vast experience and knowledge in entrepreneurship as well as on her
immeasurable contribution to the country and region.
“Her
appointment also marks PBS’s efforts in bridging the gap between academia and
industry practice.”
Hafsah,
who holds a Bachelor in Applied Sciences from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a
master’s degree in Business Administration from Aston University, United
Kingdom is the longest-serving CEO of SME Corp. from 2009.
She is
responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of policies and
programmes for the overall development of SMEs in Malaysia.
Previously,
Hafsah had served as a civil servant in several ministries including the
Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
