KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) – MyCreative Ventures Sdn.
Bhd. (MyCreative) has extended its deadline for submissions in ARTISTREET
– a competition to find Malaysia’s best street acts – to Oct 5, 2018.
ARTISTREET
is an initiative by MyCreative to present opportunities to the performing arts
community, as well as providing a platform for industry experts to
discover fresh talents. It also aims to promote more forms of performing
arts and encourage youths to express themselves creatively.
Dancers,
musicians, theatrical performers, mimes, jugglers, gymnasts, tightrope walkers,
puppeteers, magicians, comedians, acrobats, martial arts practitioners and
other street act performers are welcome to participate in the competition.
MyCreative,
in a statement today, said contestants can be individuals or in groups, and
individual contestants must be Malaysians. Non-Malaysians may join as part
of group performances with Malaysian contestants.
There are no
limitations of age, but minors must have their parent or guardian’s
consent.
The duration
of a performance must be between five to 10 minutes, and
contents must be free of any sensitive elements.
Performances
in languages other than English or Bahasa Malaysia will require a translator,
at the artist’s own cost.
This competition
awards RM18,000 in cash prizes to the top five winners, and a chance
to perform live at one of Kuala Lumpur’s most popular art festivals.
Interested
applicants must send in their submissions by the deadline stated. More details
