Oryx Stainless (Thailand) opens Bangpakong site, thanks MITI, MIDA support



KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- Sustainability award-winner, Oryx Stainless (Thailand) Co. Ltd. recently celebrated the grand opening of its new Bangpakong site in Chachoengsao, Thailand.
The market leader in stainless steel recycling in Thailand and Southeast Asia said the new factory would now form the basis for the company’s further dynamic growth over the coming years.

VIP guests at the opening ceremony comprised representatives from the government, embassies, chambers, customers, suppliers and banks, as well as the staff.
The company also expressed appreciation to a delegation from Malaysia’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI), as well as the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
Their attendance enabled an unfiltered view of the business model on the sustainable zero waste stainless steel scrap processing which made Oryx Stainless Thailand the benchmark and lighthouse for a circular economy in Southeast Asia.

Oryx Stainless (Thailand) chief executive officer, Marthijn Smit said the company was committed to staying a lighthouse for sustainability and strong promoter for the circular economy in Thailand and the distant region.
He also underlined the recycling of stainless-steel saved greenhouse gases in immense amounts.
Last year, the company delivered to the stainless-steel industry, for about 350,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) savings.
The Oryx Stainless Group in total contributed more than 2.2 million tonnes of CO2 savings to protect society against further climate change.
Oryx Stainless is planning to open another facility, with the successful Thai operation being the blueprint for further expansion in Asia.
