NTT Com to develop largest data centre in Indonesia, come 2020

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) will develop a new data centre campus known as ‘Indonesia Jakarta 3 Data Center’ (JKT3) in Bekasi, Indonesia by 2020-end.

The new four-storey campus is capable of up to 18,000 sq m (7,800 racks) IT space and 45MW IT load, once fully developed.

This is the first project of NTT Global Data Centers, established to strengthen data centre business.

Since JKT3 enables customers to customise its server room, as well as provide co-location space by the rack, JKT3 will meet various customer requirements, in particular, from Over the Top, Operators (OTTs) and financial institutions who require flexible facility design.

In JKT3, NTT Com provides standardised operation processes, including monitoring IT infrastructure in 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure stable operation regarding a customer’s IT system.

Power facilities in data centres, power supplies for air-conditioning and security, and communication facilities are all redundant, so JKT3 meets customer demand in terms of reliability.

In Indonesia, demand has been booming, triggered by the use of data centres by financial institutions based on the Indonesian Government order.

In addition, there is strong demand from OTTs which target the largest population in Southeast Asia (the fourth largest in the world).
