SERV ACQUIRED AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE STARTUP REKA


The purchase would continue SERV’s work to create its own mobility ecosystem and leverage on AI to curate mobility-related services  

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Established in 2017, SERV who was widely known as Southeast Asia’s first Vehicle Super App has now officially joined forces with REKA Inisiatif Sdn Bhd, an ambitious move that could put SERV in the business of moving people plus packages, not just car services. Aimed to be the first future mobility platform, SERV plans to transform businesses in the automotive sector harnessing advanced autonomous mobility technology with REKA as the group’s R&D arm.
 
REKA Inisiatif Sdn Bhd or simply known as REKA, has been involved in Autonomous Vehicle development since 2016 and are pursuing this research towards it’s implementation in various sectors. Through this strategic acquisition, the group is building an ecosystem of integrated mobility focused solutions while applying autonomous technology suitable to the needs of SERV’s users.

From REKA’s perspective, Haziq Faris, the CEO of REKA Inisiatif Sdn Bhd, said he was thankful to the company’s clients and investors, and assessed the next steps. “Being an R&D company, we build cutting-edge technologies and by joining forces with SERV, we are committed to bring it to the market. We are looking at implementing our autonomous technologies at a bigger scope and rejuvenating digital transformations for various industries,” said Haziq.
