New smart city innovations at Esri Malaysia User Conference

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The 22nd Esri Malaysia User Conference, to be held on Oct 25 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, will bring together the country’s growing geospatial community to explore the latest advancements in location-based analytics technology.

Esri Malaysia, in a statement today, said Esri’s geospatial technology platform is a robust data management, analytics, collaboration and 3D visualisation platform that is recognised as a foundation technology for smart cities globally, including in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Iskandar (Johor Bahru).  

Esri Malaysia chief executive officer, CS Tan, said, “In addition to featuring presentations from regional technology experts and sharing global smart city best practices, the conference will also provide an insight into how Malaysian organisations are using cutting-edge location-based analytics technology to solve unique challenges in both public and commercial organisations.”  

The event also includes the announcement of the 2018 GeoInnovation Award winners, which recognises organisations for their creative use of geospatial technology to address real-world challenges in communities and organisations.

“This award also demonstrated to the world that Malaysia is fast becoming a global powerhouse for technical innovation,” said Tan.
