KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) – The National Higher Education Carnival (KPTN) 2018, Pahang Zone, will be held at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Sports Complex in Gambang this March 3 and 4.
UMP’s deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and
International), Prof Datuk Dr Rosli Mohd Yunus, who is also the
carnival organising committee chairman, said the carnival would be an important
platform for disseminating information to the public on
higher education opportunities in the country.
“This is especially so for those enrolling in the higher
education institutions for the 2018/2019 intake to obtain information on
the academic programmes offered by 20 public universities, and polytechnics,
community colleges, public skills training institutions, private higher
education institutions and other learning institutions,” he said.
There will be more than 100 exhibition booths
including those by the participating higher education institutions,
higher education sponsors and other education-related agencies.
Among the activities lined up is the sharing of
experience by Gruppe Consultant chief executive officer Datuk Wan
Nazri Wan Aria, Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd senior manager (Operations and
Maintenance) Tariq Umar Mohamed, and UMP’s Faculty of Chemical and Natural
Resources lecturer, Mohd Najib Razali.
A UMP alumni, Mohd Najib was the reseacher who
came up with the G-Treat product, a natural substance formulation to treat
greasy waste water from industries.
Other activities will include the ‘Jom Masuk IPT’ Run,
Street Science@ Gallery, career talks, edu tours, cultural shows,
entrepreneurship exhibition, and a science and innovation exhibition.
