KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- Thirty-five women entrepreneurs from various sectors and backgrounds attended a business consultation session at Wisma Wanita, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah today.
The programme was organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) in collaboration with the Sabah Women's Advisory Council and Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM).
TPM president and chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Azman Shahidin said the programme was aimed at helping entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), especially women, to improve their business performance.
"We always support entrepreneurship empowerment for women entrepreneurs. This time, we are also sharing information on various services, funding and programmes that are available to SME women entrepreneurs in Sabah through the sharing of ideas, experiences, aspirations and most importantly, promoting products to a wider market," he said in a statement today.
Besides conducting briefings on entrepreneurship, TPM also brings its successful entrepreneurs to share with others, knowledge on business management, sales and marketing, finance and other entrepreneurial cluster disciplines.
TPM also provides financing schemes of up to RM50,000 to eligible SMEs, especially micro enterprises through the assistance of its subsidiaries, TPM Engineering Sdn Bhd and TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd.
TPM, a MOSTI agency, has integrated infrastructure, facilities and support services to help entrepreneurs who are interested in commercialising ideas in four industrial groups, namely, information and communications technology, engineering, biotechnology and green technology.
