PAAB Signs Corruption-Free Pledge

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- Two hundred staff of Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB), a wholly-owned company of Minister of Finance Incorporated, today signed the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) as a commitment to carrying out their duties with full trust, and staying away from corruption and abuse of power.

The pledge was led by its chief executive officer, Mahadzir Mustafa, and witnessed by Federal Territory Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director, Razaliah Abdul Rahman and PAAB chairman, Tan Sri Tajol Rosli Mohd Ghazali.

According to Mahadzir, this pledge affirmed PAAB´s commitment to fully support the idea of strengthening ​​ethics and integrity in corporate management, as the main thrust of the company's establishment since 2006 was on developing and maintaining the nation´s water assets to support sustainable development goals of the water industry.

"The IBR will further enhance the implementation of the principle of integrity among the PAAB staff, in addition to being a reminder to all employees to avoid corruption.

"The PAAB management will not compromise with any staff involved in corrupt practices," he said in his speech at the pledge-taking ceremony, here.

Mahadzir said the move could also send a message to the public that fighting corruption was not the sole responsibility of MACC officers, but the duty and trust should be shared by all so that the country could be free from the scourge of corruption and abuse of power.
