JAPANESE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES SHOW INTEREST TO CONDUCT CLINICAL TRIALS IN MALAYSIA

TOKYO, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) hold a half-day seminar that targets Japanese pharmaceutical and medical device companies interested in conducting clinical trials in the Asian region. This is the first time for CRM to deliver a clinical trial seminar focusing on its home country in Japan.

22 Japanese pharmaceutical companies attended the seminar that was held at The Strings by InterContinental in Tokyo. Speaking at the seminar was Datuk Dr. Shahnaz Murad (Deputy-Director of Health (Research & Technical Support), Ministry of Health Malaysia), Dr. Yoko Aoi (Principal Planning and Coordination Officer, Office of International Cooperation, PMDA, Japan) and Professor Dr. S. Fadilah (Head of Cell Therapy Centre, UKM Medical Centre) delivering talks focusing on the Malaysian clinical research ecosystem and opportunities as well as capabilities in clinical trials.

Malaysia’s competitive cost in conducting clinical research, speed of approval, quality of sites, doctors and research talents, sets out to fully realize its potential as the clinical trial destination of choice. CRM plays an important role in supporting the smooth implementation of clinical trials as it has strong connections with local regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical companies and medical institutions. 

CRM is an innovative solution for clinical research site management in Malaysia as it has access to a wide network of hospitals, principal investigators and study coordinators across the nation. By leveraging on these networks, CRM offers complimentary feasibility study services to sponsors and contract research organizations.
