MEHK celebrates agents with award ceremony, rewards familiarisation trip

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- For the seventh consecutive year, the Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) organised the Top MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibitions) Agent Awards Ceremony-cum-Mega Familiarisation Trip.
The five-day event, beginning March 6, saw the gathering of over 60 agents from five strategic markets, including Mainland China, India, Indonesia, South Korea and the new joiner, Thailand, according to a statement.

“In 2019, Hong Kong is setting off to a new era for MICE Tourism as we have many new infrastructures, new business potential with the Greater Bay Area and most importantly, exciting new experiences for MICE groups,” said Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) MICE and Cruise Division general manager, Kenneth Wong.
“Travel agents play a pivotal role and we would like to express our greatest appreciation through an excitement-filled ceremony and customised itinerary, to showcase there’s so much more Hong Kong can offer,” he added.
This year, the awards ceremony was hosted at the new Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel, an urban oasis with the largest pillar-less ballroom on Hong Kong Island.
Agents also participated in activities which included a visit to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the High Speed Rail Link, temple hopping with exclusive privileges, Geopark boat trip and hiking, and cultural workshop, among others.
MEHK, a division of HKTB, also announced that Hong Kong Disneyland was undergoing its multi-year expansion, which would provide new attractions or entertainment offerings while Ocean Park Hong Kong would have a Water World, the first and only waterfront water park in Southeast Asia.
