DUITNOW LAUNCH CONTEST - REWARDS TWO WINNERS WITH MERCEDES-BENZ CARS

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- On 2 May 2019, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) held a prize giving ceremony for the DuitNow Launch Contest where two lucky winners drove home a Mercedes GLC200 and Mercedes A200 car.  The contest, which is running for 5 months, offers a total of RM4 million in life-changing prizes.

In December 2018, PayNet in collaboration with banks in Malaysia launched DuitNow, which allows bank customers to transfer money instantly and securely on a 24/7 basis at banks’ Internet or Mobile banking channels.  DuitNow funds transfers can be directed using the recipients’ mobile numbers, MyKad or business registration numbers.

In conjunction with DuitNow’s launch, bank customers stand a chance to win amazing prizes including a RM1 million dream home, a total of RM1 million in cash prizes, five RM20,000 IKEA gift card shopping sprees, a RM100,000 Malaysia Airlines holiday package, a Mercedes-Benz GLC200 and a Mercedes-Benz A200.  The DuitNow Launch Contest runs from 8 January to 31 May 2019 and all bank customers who use DuitNow may participate in the contest.

Sending money up to RM5,000 using DuitNow is free for consumers and SMEs.  To receive money, bank customers need only perform a one-time DuitNow ID registration by linking their mobile numbers, MyKad or MyPR numbers, passport numbers, or business registration numbers with their bank accounts.

Upon completing this one-time registration, customers are eligible for the DuitNow Launch Contest whenever they make DuitNow payments.  Every DuitNow funds transfer to a unique mobile number or ID number each day counts as one contest entry.  Customers who previously registered or pre-registered for DuitNow are already eligible for the contest and can proceed to earn contest entries by sending money.

One of the lucky winners for the contest, Ms Siti Nurbaini Sophri a customer of CIMB Bank Berhad, won a Mercedes A200.

“I use DuitNow at CIMB Bank’s Internet Banking whenever I need to send money to my family and friends because it is convenient and easy to pay to their mobile numbers.  I don’t need their bank account details to send them money.  Best of all, my DuitNow transactions are free.  I really didn’t expect to win this lovely car,” said Ms Siti.

Ms Cho Kah Poh, who drove away a GLC200 mentioned, “I still can’t believe that I have won.  Thank you DuitNow for making it possible for me to own such an luxurious car so I can now drive my family around elegantly!”, said Ms Cho a customer of OCBC Bank.  She added that she began using DuitNow in January and “found it quick and easy to send money to mobile numbers in my mobile phone contacts using DuitNow in OCBC’s mobile banking.”

Presenting the prizes was Mr Peter Schiesser, Group Chief Executive Officer of Payments Network Malaysia.  Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony, Mr Schiesser, said “DuitNow has received a phenomenal reception since its launch 4 months ago.  We have more than 7 million mobile numbers and identity card numbers registered to receive DuitNow payments, while transaction volume is growing more than 50% month-on-month, said Mr Peter Schiesser.

“We hope the DuitNow Launch Contest will continue to encourage more Malaysians to discover the unparalleled convenience of sending money and making payments with DuitNow.  There’s still a RM1 million house to be won.  Winning one of our prizes will truly be a life-changing experience,” said Mr Schiesser.
