MCMILLAN WOODS GLOBAL RAISES RM120K THROUGH THE "WORLD'S 1ST ULTIMATE WALKING CHALLENGE" TO FEED THE POOR & RAISE AWARENESS ON BLEEDING DISORDERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Distinguished audit firm McMillan Woods Global (MCMWG) is back again this year to host the “World’s 1st Ultimate Walking Challenge” on 10-10-2021, a fundraising campaign for humanitarian aid. Through this campaign, MCMWG raises RM120,000 for NGO beneficiaries - Save Environment Save Ourselves (SESO) and The Hemophilia Society of Malaysia (HSM).

MCMWG has upped the game this time around, raising the highest category from 100,000 (McM Cares Charity Walk 2019) to 120,000 steps with the option of hiking up 165 floors to match the world’s tallest building – the Burj Khalifa (163 floors). This additional huddle makes for a more challenging and memorable event.

Participation in the “World’s 1st Ultimate Walking Challenge” is entirely FREE.  Joining in as volunteers to take part and promote this campaign are local celebrities and influencers – Natalia Ng, Jeryl Lee Pei Ling, and Yazmin Aziz. The “World’s 1st Ultimate Walking Challenge” caught the attention of people from all around the world; over 1,000 participants from 66 countries participated in the walkathon.

The pandemic has taught us a valuable lesson about hardship; some were even forced to raise the white flag to combat hunger. SESO is working hard to nourish the community by preventing food, and other surplus goods from being disposed of and redistribute to those in need. HSM, on the other hand, is working to improve treatment for people with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. Through this campaign, HSM hopes to educate the public on this matter and aid those suffering from these disorders.

The ‘World 1st Ultimate Walking Challenge’ is open to all age groups and is broken down into three categories – 12,000 steps; 50,000 steps; and 120,000 steps. Those who completed the challenge received a specially designed t-shirt and an e-certificate; whereas the top 3 finishers in each category received exciting prizes from the sponsors.

Philanthropist Dato' Seri Raymond Liew (President of MCMWG) has taken it upon himself to raise the RM120,000 through various sponsorship opportunities. He said, “We have put in the work to acquire sponsors to raise funds for this event so that everyone is able to stand in this movement without having to pay any entry fees. We ask nothing more than support from the rakyat to come together and assist SESO and HSM in their mission to raise awareness on pressing matters.”

This charity fundraising campaign is also assisted by Dato’ Sri Shamir Nandy, a good friend of the organizer, Dato’ Seri Raymond Liew of McM Cares program. Many reputable brands and companies quickly came together in support of this initiative, including:
